Donating to The Refuge

FOOD, HYGIENE and HOUSEHOLD CLEANING DONATIONS

Donate food items to help stock our pantry shelves. We also accept any new household cleaning products; as well as any new hygiene items. All of our clients are able to request specific things they need and are provided when they are available.  

Can your business or employment provide a collection box or can you lead a food drive? Let us know how we can help! If you are an organization that has a large donation, we will come and pick the items up. 

Our top needs are typically:   Toilet Paper, Hygiene Items, Rice, Ramen Noodles, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Meat Products, and Cleaning Supplies. Note: We do not accept appliances, clothing or furniture.  We suggest contacting Impact Center at MCC or Lord's Cupboard. 

Twist on a traditional food drive: Instead of collecting random items, create shelf-stable meal kits inspired by Dollar Tree Dinners (found on Facebook and Instagram. These kits are budget friendly, simple - with minimal pantry ingredients required, filling and nutritional. 👉 Click HERE for printable meal cards.  Be sure to include 2-gallon Ziplock bags in your budget — they’re perfect for packaging each kit neatly! Turn the assembly into a fun, hands-on activity with your team and make a real impact together.

Weekend Food Bag: For many students, school provides more than just an education — it provides stability. For some, the breakfast and lunch they receive at school may be their most dependable meals of the day. When the weekend arrives, that consistency can disappear, leaving a gap that no child should have to face. To help bridge that gap, schools work to provide weekend food bags for students in need. These small bags make a big impact — offering nourishment, comfort, and the reassurance that their community cares.

The Refuge is partnering with local schools to help supply the contents of these weekend bags. Together, we can ensure every child has what they need — not just in the classroom, but beyond it.  Here’s how you can help:

💛 Donate monetarily to supply meals for a week or a month. These cover suppling multiple bags.

🛍️ Gather your group — family, friends, co-workers, small groups, athletic teams, and more — to create weekend bags with items: granola bars, applesauce or fruit cups, breakfast/protein drinks, Easy Mac, microwave pop-top soups and pastas, ramen, fruit or breakfast bars, Pop-Tarts, individual chip bags, Capri Sun, peanut butter or cheese crackers, beef/cheese sticks, fruit snacks, trail mix, and popcorn.

There are many ways for companies to become a partner in the fight against hunger. Employee giving programs and corporate matching gifts are a great way to make a difference. 

FINANCIAL DONATIONS

Donate financially in support of the overall operating expenses of the facility and our ministries. All donations are tax deductible. Financial donors will receive a statement in the mail reflecting your donation. If a receipt is needed for food donations, please ask when your donation is brought to The Refuge.Your generous support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and mission.
